WWE’s Drew Gulak thanks ‘Papa H’ after returning to Twitch

The WWE star recently returned to broadcasting on Twitch, with Drew Gulak playing some Metal Gear Revengeance and answering fan questions for the past week. Gulak hasn’t been streaming for a long time, and several WWE Superstars who were active on Twitch have halted broadcasting after a memo from Vince McMahon halted the use of third-party platforms. This included Cameo and Twitch, and while WWE has since come to an agreement with Cameo, there has been no word on Twitch. Gulak posted about his return to broadcasting and Triple H shouted, Although through his stream He also shared some thoughts on Twitch’s overall status reports and broadcasts.

On Twitter, Gulak wrote, “Yes, I’m streaming on Twitch again. Thank you, Papa H! My cousin is also still with me, he insisted… Please come and ask him questions.” During that broadcast, it was apparent that he was asked if WWE had changed their stance on live broadcasts and Twitch, and Gulak said he didn’t really know, but added that some things were made up.

“No, I really don’t know,” said Gulak. “The company’s position is still the same. It’s okay. Everyone’s fine. That’s the situation. We’re all fine. I don’t know why they’re making this stuff.”

Regardless of WWE’s official stance, it’s great to see WWE Superstars stream once again, and hopefully they’ll end up going back to the previous streams. Streaming is a great way to build a community and interact with fans (just look at Johnny Gargano, Dakota Kay, and others), and it will only serve as an asset to the stars and their followers, which means it’s also an asset to WWE and the overall producer.

Previous issues with live streaming began when Vince McMahon emailed talent in October 2020, saying the company would take control of the accounts. This was a problem for many stars at the time, including Cesaro (Claudio Castagnoli), Zelina Vega, Xavier Woods, Paige (Saraya), Alistair Black and AJ Styles. Since then, Black and Castagnoli have left for AEW, while Vega was released from the company but then brought back.

WWE hasn’t officially commented on its stance on third-party platforms or if that internal stance changes, so we’ll just have to see what happens.
